A Content Collaboration with Moroccanoil | A Behind-the-Scenes Look

For the past few years, I’ve been immersed in the world of calligraphy and hand engraving, creating personalized keepsakes designed to be held onto, gifted, and remembered. Since early 2023, that work has expanded to include bottle painting, allowing me to bring even more detail and storytelling into each piece I create.

Most of what I make is meant to mark a moment, something meaningful for a client, a loved one, or even a brand. And somewhere along the way, I realized that I don’t just love the finished piece, I love capturing it too.

Documenting the process, photographing the final details, filming the transformation from a blank surface into something deeply personal… it’s become one of my favorite parts of what I do.

So when Moroccanoil reached out to collaborate on the launch of their newest fragrance, Lumière du Jour, it felt like such a full circle moment.

A Brand I’ve Loved for Years

This collaboration felt especially meaningful because it wasn’t just any brand.

I’ve followed Moroccanoil for years. I remember the first time I brought one of their products home, it felt like a little luxury, something special. Over time, I watched them expand from haircare into fragrance, candles, and more, each launch carrying that same signature feel.

So to be invited into that world, not just as a customer, but as a contributing artist, was something I didn’t take lightly.

My Role in the Launch

For this collaboration, I was invited to create a custom, hand-engraved and painted perfume bottle as part of a VIP giveaway experience.

My role included:

  • Hand engraving the bottle

  • Painting delicate florals inspired by the fragrance notes, including jasmine and tuberose

  • Filming the full process from start to finish

  • Showcasing the final piece within the curated gift set

Even down to the smallest details, I found myself fully immersed in the experience. I swapped my signature Ferrari red nails for a soft blush pink to complement the tones of the bottle and packaging, which felt like such a small but meaningful shift in creative direction.

Every step was intentional, from the lettering to the painted elements to how the final piece would be presented on camera.

Watching It Come to Life

Seeing the final reel go live on Instagram was surreal.

Within just a few days, the response was incredible. The post drew thousands of interactions, with viewers tagging friends, sharing the reel, and engaging with the launch in a way that felt genuine and exciting.

There’s something really special about watching something you created travel that far.

Once the giveaway closed, a winner was selected, and I had the opportunity to personalize a bottle just for them.

That final step, creating something one-of-a-kind for a real person, and sending it off as part of such a thoughtful gift, was the perfect way to close out the experience.

What Made This Collaboration Stand Out

One thing that truly meant a lot to me was how the Moroccanoil team showed up throughout the entire process.

They not only supported the creative direction, but they also made it a point to tag and credit the artists involved. That kind of recognition matters more than people realize. To be seen, acknowledged, and connected to the work in a visible way makes a lasting impression.

It spoke volumes about their team and the way they value the creatives they collaborate with.

Final Thoughts

This experience was one I won’t forget.

From the creative freedom to the thoughtful execution to the way everything came together at the end, it was truly special from start to finish.

And as a final note, the fragrance itself is absolutely beautiful!
